The Hotel de Matignon

The Hôtel de Matignon opens its doors to you on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, with the themes this year "Living heritage" and sports heritage", a prelude to the organization of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Built at the beginning of the 18th century, in the heart of the Faubourg Saint-Germain, the Hôtel de Matignon has been the official workplace of the various heads of government since 1935. In addition to very beautiful reception rooms, it also has the largest private garden in the capital, an exceptional plant heritage which received the eco-garden label in 2022.

Many activities await you throughout the weekend to enrich your visit to this unique heritage site. A dive into the archives will allow you to discover or rediscover the athletes received at Matignon since the 1960s, including many Olympic medalists. It will also be possible to learn a little more about the restoration operations carried out at Matignon in recent years, both on the structure of the building and on the many interior decorations: on this occasion, several craftsmen (stonemasons, carpenters, parquet restorers, etc. will present their know-how to you.

Other surprises will mark your journey! For example, a partnership with the French Federation of Vintage Vehicles will allow fans of old vehicles to discover in the hotel's main courtyard some models chosen by the Presidents of the Council and Prime Ministers from 1935 to the present day. For children, various activities have also been planned, including a honey tasting or a quiz.

See you soon at the Hôtel de Matignon!
