About the conference

The CNRS organises a high-level event dedicated to promoting its strategic international partnerships implemented over the past few years with selected world-class universities.

As a major player in global science, the CNRS aims to develop collaborations with the best universities around the world.

The major scientific and technological questions of today require us to think of new ways of cooperating. By creating their International Research Centers (IRCs), the CNRS and its partners wish to identify and address the challenges that lie ahead, challenges that transcend borders and disciplines.

There are currently six IRCs:

  • IRC-France-Arizona Institute for Global Grand Challenges (University of Arizona - CNRS)
  • IRC-Discovery (University of Chicago - CNRS)
  • IRC for Transformational Science and Technology (Imperial College London - CNRS)
  • IRC Transitions (Universidade de São Paulo - CNRS)
  • IRC Innovations pour une planète durable (Université de Sherbrooke - CNRS)
  • IRC CNRS-uTokyo (University of Tokyo - CNRS)

By bringing together the presidents of the partner universities as well prestigious scientific figures and government representatives, the conference Connecting talents: shaping the future of global science aims at highlighting the role of international cooperation in building the future generation of world scientific talents, as well as building bridges between partners.

The conference will gather decision makers, CNRS and major university leaders, representatives from the corporate sector, and the scientific community.

The agenda of the event and list of panelists are detailed below.
