M. Jean-Francois CLERVOY
Astronaut, ESA
Jean-François CLERVOY, ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut from France and brigadier general from DGA (Defense procurement agency).  Born in 1958, JFC graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 1981, from SupAero college of Aeronautics in 1983 and from Test flying school in 1987.

He flew on three missions aboard the space shuttle: in 1994 to study the atmosphere, in 1997 to resupply the Russian space station Mir, and in 1999 to repair the Hubble space telescope. JFC works as senior advisor for the ESA human space flight programs and as chairman of Novespace which organizes weightlessness parabolic flights aboard the Airbus A310 ZERO-G. He is member of several organizations for the promotion of space exploration and for the protection of planet Earth.

M. Tim CLARK
Chairman, Emirates Airline
Tim CLARK has been in the civil aviation business for his whole professional career, having joined British Caledonian in 1972.

In 1975, he moved to Gulf Air in Bahrain and subsequently in 1985 to Dubai where he became a member of the founding team of Emirates as Head of Airline Planning. 

In 2003, he became President of Emirates Airline, one of the world's fastest growing airlines, which currently serves 160 destinations in 85 countries with a fleet of 270 wide-bodied aircraft. The airline has an aircraft order book of over 250 units valued at more than US $100 billion at list prices. Emirates operates the world’s largest fleet of A380s, and also the world’s largest Boeing 777 fleet.

Between April 1998 and March 2008, Mr Clark was also the Managing Director of Sri Lankan Airlines, the latter position resulted from Emirates' acquisition in April 1998 of a major stake in the airline with full management control.

Mr Clark is Chairman of the Emirates Airline Foundation, which he was instrumental in founding. The Foundation strives to improve the welfare of disadvantaged children of the world.

He holds a degree in Economics from London University and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He also holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Middlesex, and an honorary degree from the Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University.

In the 2014 Queen’s New Year’s Honours list, Mr Clark was invested as a Knight of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) for services to British prosperity and to the aviation industry.

In November 2009, he was conferred an “Officier de la Legion d’Honneur” by the French government for services to transport and aviation, and he holds the 2009 Gold Award from the Royal Aeronautical Society for his contribution to civil aerospace. At the 2011 Airline Business and Flightglobal Achievement Awards, he was recognised as “Leader of the year”, and in 2013, he received the Center for Aviation (CAPA) Legends award and was inducted into the CAPA Hall of Fame.

M. Pieter BOOTSMA

Born on 1st September 1969, Pieter D. BOOTSMA is a graduate of the Technical University of Twente and holds a PhD in Business Engineering & Management Science. He is also an alumnus of Columbia University (USA) and IMD (High Performance Leadership, Singapore).
Pieter Bootsma joined KLM in 1995 where he worked in the area of network planning and schedule development until 2000. He then joined Pricing & Revenue Management, first being responsible for Europe and subsequently for the North Atlantic as from 2003. In June 2004, he assumed worldwide responsibility for Pricing & Revenue Management. In 2008, he took up the same position for Air France and KLM.
In 2011, he became head of Marketing, Network and Revenue Management for KLM before carrying out the same activities within the Air France-KLM Group in 2013. He was also a board member of the Airline Tariff Publishing Company (Washington, USA) from 2004 to 2009.
He was a member of the KLM Executive Committee from 2011 to 2013 and has been a member of the Air France-KLM Group Executive Committee since January 2013. He is also a member of Air France board of directors.
Pieter Bootsma is the Executive Vice President Commercial & Revenue for the Air France-KLM group.

Mrs. Sandrine DE SAINT SAUVEUR
CEO & President, APG Inc.
Born in 1971 in France, 2 children, Sandrine de SAINT SAUVEUR is graduated from San Diego State University in Finance. .

Employed by APG since 1993, she worked in all passenger departments of APG in charge of developing sales both of the French market and European markets together with APG NETWORK

Since 1999, she has developed the IBCS-IATA product and has been running over 800 contracts around the world. 

In 2003 she became President & CEO of APG DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM , full subsidiary of APG.

In April 2007 she has taken over APG France and became President & CEO.

Since 2011, she is also in charge of the incorporation of APG Global Associates network into APG INC and acts as President of APG INC.

She gives conferences in some commercial high schools and in particular the ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile).

In 2015, she was promoted to the rank of Chevalier of the Legion of Honour on the request of the Minister of the Economy : Mr Emmanuel Macron

Mrs. Montserrat BARRIGA
Director General, ERA
Montserrat BARRIGA was appointed ERA Director General on 1 November 2017. Barriga is responsible to ERA’s board for the delivery and implementation of ERA’s strategy as well as the policy and technical work of the association. Under her leadership, ERA is highlighting the aviation sector’s vital contribution to Europe’s future economic prosperity, particularly in the regions of Europe. Barriga travels extensively within Europe, meeting with policy-making bodies such as EASA, the European Commission, Eurocontrol and the European Parliament and Council as well as ERA members.

Prior to her appointment as ERA Director General, Barriga worked at ERA member airline Binter as Director of International Development and Industry Affairs, focusing on the airline’s regulatory needs and international development. Before this, Barriga headed up strategy development at Pullmantur Group, which included a cruise line, tour operators, retail travel agencies and the charter airline Pullmantur Air.

Adrian PARKES joined the GTMC as its chief executive officer in September 2017 following over 20 years in senior leadership roles in the airline and business travel sectors. Adrian was most recently Director of Product and Marketing for Clarity following the merger with Portman in November 2016, where latterly Adrian was Commercial Director. Adrian’s experience also spans many years in the airline sector, spending 3 years based in Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways as vice president, global sales and in various senior roles at bmi (British Midland) for 11 years, rising to the role of commercial director on the airlines operating board.

Prior to working in the travel industry, Adrian held various senior management sales and distribution roles in the FMCG industry.

Bob SCHUMACHER is Managing Director Sales, United Kingdom & Ireland for United.  In this role, which he assumed in January 2011, he is responsible for the sales and marketing activity of United in the two countries; as well as European trade contact centres and Marketing.

Previously, Schumacher was Senior Director of the UK & Ireland for the former Continental Airlines subsidiary, a position which he held from 2004.  Schumacher joined Continental in 1994 as Airport Business Manager at Gatwick and became Cargo Director Sales & Service for EMEA in 1997, before becoming Director Passenger Sales for the UK and Ireland in 2000.

Prior to joining Continental, Schumacher worked for UK charter airline Air 2000 (now renamed and a part of the First Choice/TUI Group), and previous to that for British Midland at the then newly-opened London City Airport.

Schumacher is Chair of the Board of Airline Representatives, BAR-UK, and a recent  chair of the STAR Alliance Country Steering Group in the UK & Ireland.

Schumacher is a BSc Hons graduate in Geography/Economics from Keele University.  He lives in Surrey and is married with two children.

Eric LEOPOLD is the Director Transformation for Financial and Distribution Services at IATA. His team leads the transformation agenda for the air travel industry, including industry standards and change programs. Some of the main current projects are New Distribution Capability (NDC), ONE Order, NewGen ISS, and Transparency in Payment. In his role he champions the “Digital Airline Vision”, under the leadership of the Industry Transformation Group.

​Eric joined IATA in 2005, focusing on the passenger experience at the airport. Prior to IATA, Eric had management roles in the publishing and IT industries, in the US and in France. He holds a MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and an MBA.

Today he is acting as CEO for Air Caraibes, a French private airline owned by group Dubreuil and profitable into the cloudy french skies. With Dominique Gretz they also manage the own consulting Cy named: Aerogestion.
